Will It Last ("we," "us") provides the Will It Last — Scenario Explorer, a one-time, educational, self-directed retirement cashflow tool. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or purchase access, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English — the same way we write everything else.
What we collect
When you use the Scenario Explorer, we collect only what the analysis needs:
- Household financial inputs — ages, planned retirement ages, approximate account balances, income, expected Social Security benefits, pension or annuity amounts, monthly spending target, and your state of residence.
- Your email address — used to confirm your purchase and send your access link.
- An optional household name — used only to personalize your on-screen results and exported PDF record.
We never ask for, collect, or store account numbers, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, login credentials, or any information that could be used to access your financial accounts. The balances you enter are approximate figures that you type in yourself.
Like nearly all websites, our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads; this is subject to Google's privacy policy. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
How we use your information
- To run the simulation and return your results, guided walk-through, and PDF record.
- To send your access link and keep a record of your purchase so we can restore access, answer questions, or honor our satisfaction policy.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service.
That's it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use your financial inputs for marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list when you purchase access.
Who can see your information
Your inputs and results are processed on the server that runs the simulation. Access to the tool is granted through a private link containing a random access token; the link is sent only to the email address you provide, and it is not listed or indexed anywhere on our site. We use a third-party email provider solely to deliver purchase confirmations and access links. We do not share your information with any other third parties unless required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records and the inputs associated with your session so we can restore access during your window and provide support. If you would like your data deleted, contact us with the email address you used and we will remove it.
Children
Our service is a retirement planning tool intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted prominently on the website.
