Terms of Service
Effective date: June 21, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Will It Last website and your purchase of access to the Will It Last — Scenario Explorer. By using the site or purchasing access, you agree to them. We have written them in plain English on purpose — please actually read them, especially the first section.
1. What this service is — and is not
The tool uses Monte Carlo simulation: it shows a range of hypothetical outcomes under randomized market scenarios. A "probability of success" is a property of the model, not a prediction or guarantee of any real-world outcome. Past market behavior, which the model is calibrated to, does not guarantee future results.
Before acting on anything the tool shows — retirement timing, Social Security claiming, relocation, withdrawal or spending changes — consult a qualified financial planner, tax professional, or attorney who can consider your full situation.
2. Your inputs
Every result the tool produces is driven by the inputs you provide. You are responsible for their accuracy. Small input changes can produce large changes in results, especially over long horizons. You can adjust your inputs and re-run the tool yourself at any time during your access window (see Section 3).
3. Access, payment, and how it works
- Access is sold as a one-time purchase at the price shown at the time you order. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.
- After payment, we email a private access link to the address you provide — normally within a few minutes. The link opens the Scenario Explorer.
- Your access link is valid for 48 hours and supports up to 20 runs. During that window you can change inputs, re-run the simulation, step through the guided walk-through, and export a PDF record. Keep the email — the link is how you return to the tool.
4. Satisfaction policy and refunds
If the tool did not work as described, or you were unable to access it, contact us within 30 days of purchase. We will work with you to make it right — including restoring access or issuing a refund. Because access is granted immediately and delivered digitally, refunds are at our reasonable discretion after we have had a chance to address the issue.
5. Permitted use
Your access and the outputs you generate are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use (including sharing your results with your spouse, family, or your own professional advisors). You may not resell access or outputs, offer them as part of a paid service to others, share your access link, or use the site to build a competing product. You may not attempt to access other customers' sessions or interfere with the operation of the service.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the model, its assumptions, or its tax calculations are complete, current for your circumstances, or error-free, nor that the site will be uninterrupted. The How It Works page describes the model's known limitations — including simplified state tax treatment, married-filing-jointly federal brackets, and costs that are not modeled (such as long-term care and pre-65 healthcare).
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for access. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including investment losses, tax liabilities, or decisions made in reliance on the tool's outputs.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Purchases are governed by the terms in effect when the purchase was made.
